yes very much so. We’ve been capable of maths and timing (the way this was done) for a very long time. Digital composites though? No so much…
The stupid, it BURNS. No “high technology”? Christ. Try to construct a computer operated motion control rig that controls an additional rig resulting in perfectly LOCKED counter motion. Do you really think that’s less advanced than compositing a scaled down actor that was shot on green screen?
Fuck CGI, this is way better.
Think of all the math that went into this. Holy crap.
Dammit! Ever since I saw this I’ve noticed the that they were at different lengths away when I watched the movie again.
I was convinced they made 3 separate shots, one for the tables and stuff and 1 for each different sized character, then combined the three in one. This is a simple idea working greatly.
reddit-ulous!
This just blew my mind. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
CANNOT COMPREHEND
That IS what high technology is..good ideas.
It’s because of these effects that I can never think of Elijah Wood as a normal sized human being.
Genius!
I’m not so sure, i haven’t been a fan of Nolan since Memento, and i still think Begins was the best of his batman films, they’ve gone downhill since, bar a fantastic Ledger performance
I saw it too. He may be smaller, but he still has the intimidating personality of someone who could mentally destroy the Batman while stomping the living s**t out of him.
nope. The first 15 minutes have been leaked already, Bane is just small in the movie
amazing!!!
I’m guessing Christopher Nolan will be using something similar in “The Dark Knight Rises” with making Bane seem larger, since the on-set production photos show Batman is clearly taller than Tom Hardy in costume.
That’s wild!
that’s true special effect, not blinking and flashing obvious 3d animation
Amazing!
That’s Genius!
I wonder if this will still work for the hobit, it being in 3D and all. But maybe the CGI is better today than it was back then. Some of the LOTR CGI shots didnt look that good.
If you still don’t understand it then you must be mentally challenged
