  1. cool hey check out my review of this camera and some test shots including an hd video test!!!

  2. I bought this camera, but realised that when making movies the audio has a constant pitched noise in high frequences. And I ask myself: why is there the choice to have stereo, if there is a noise stereo? Why the seller tried to convince me that this sound is normal for this kind of cameras. I had a Pentax Optio E35, lower quality and lower price than the Nikon S8000 and this noise doesn’t exist. The Nikon S8000 is a camera for photo, but not for videos. I really feel fooled. Thank you Nikon.

  3. you plug xharger cable in to camera and plug cable into charger itself

  4. for my points; I need a camera that has fast starting time and fast focusing/shuttle lag for my wife. She hates my huge DSLR; also a DC is eay to carry while walking around with our new baby. So I go for this camera.

If you do not care about the fast action of this camera; I would say others might good choose. Nikon ads “fast” on this camera after all..

  5. I’ve seen both cameras in person but I haven’t actually handeled either one. In general, we like the Sony compact digital cameras better than Nikon. Nikon is the best right now for DSLRs but their point-and-shoot cameras have often been disappointing. That said, the S8000 looks really good. Sorry I don’t have more to offer on these two cameras right now.

  6. im really torn between this s8000 and the new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55. have you handled the sony yet? im really stuck here.

  7. There are lots of pocket superzoom camera options now. This is Nikon’s first and I haven’t used it so I have no opinion. Canon has made a few but Panasonic started this category and I think they’re still the best at it. Check out the Panasonic Lumix ZS7 – it’s their latest. Fujifilm, Sony and Casio also have interesting 10x zoom pocket cameras now.

  8. hello im really confused..i want to buy this camera…but then i saw the canon sx210 IS..whats ur opinion?

  12. I’m not sure you understood correctly. The Nikon S8000 costs $299 US. And the LCD display is not crappy – it’s as good as you can get. It’s the same LCD Nikon is using in their $5000 D3S digital SLR.
