Nikon D800 is a killer DSLR. Check dxomark.com It has trumped the D4 and medium format camera. And it is also has great features for video. Unlike Canon, the HDMI out is clean not compressed unlike Canon DSLRs thou they are still great. Just my humble opinion.
What I cant understand, is why there are still idiots out there on Ebay still paying 4k plus for used D3x’s when the D800 smashes the D3x on all levels and is now rated no1 on the dxo mark!
Dxo mark labs rates Nikon D800 in there top of there list wiht score 95!!!!!!!

I am not rich and do not shoot “fast moving action”. NEX-7 + Fuji X-PRO take Leica M lenses via adaptors. I wouldn`t buy an M9 body as I`m not a fan of rangefinders, but hopefully the M9`s replacement will add “LiveView”.
Leica truly are experts, use VERY expensive glass, and are extremely meticulous in their quality control. On average, image quality from their lenses beats any other manufacturer. You can adapt Leica R lenses to fit your canon, and some of these are not expensive

oooohhh reallyyy? well that’s total bullshit. canon is oversaturated? did you even heard the term ‘Picture Style’? its one of the function that Canon had for so many years. and yes you can download a special color theme that suits to one’s need. and for movie shooter, they actually have a profile called CineMovie. and it gives you that less saturation, contrast and sharpness. how bout nikon? none.

excuse me? leica is for filthy rich spoil brats people. maybe like you. and how da fuq you gonna use leica to shot fast moving action with that manual AF. i know leica have a very good lens. but their body aren’t meant for mainstream shooting. leica is more for people to show off or probably used to shot scenery/family or mostly to show off that you are filthy rich.
and puhhleeasseee.. my mate owned a leica m9 and i’ve shoot with it. the menu is definitely horrible. nuff said.
People only buy canon 1.2 lenses because they are fast, but at f1.2 the images have such low contrast and sharpness that they are unusable. Leica lenses perform better at lower apertures than lenses from any other manufacturer.
Funnily enough, your 1dx produces files that are exactly the same size as a Leica M9!. At base ISO, M9/50mm summilux images are better than any canon + canon 50/1.2, simply because of the 50 summilux. Do you even know what good image quality is?
14-24mm is one of the best UWA lens or IMHO, the best UWA zoom:)
if i were to use the 10.5 dx fisheye on this, would the video look the same as it would on a dx format camera?
14-24mm f/2.8 is not a fisheye. It’s a *rectilinear* ultra wide angle lens.
- And precisely how many photographers do you imagine are dissuaded from buying Nikon because they lack a fisheye zoom?
- And presumably these high FPS will compensate for your inability to capture the shot by using … good shooting skills?
