  4. Have you noticed a loud click when you half press the shutter with the VR on?
    I know that all VR lenses make a sound when the VR is engaged and disengaged but I find my copy of the 18-200 VR II sound much louder than my 18-105.

  8. i actually dont have this lens anymore, but from what i remember, it didnt make any noise at all. it should be fine for video.

  9. How much noise does this lens make while focusing? How would it sound when recording a video with full-time auto focus?

  10. hmm. i thought the the 18-135 was pretty sharp actually. if you want the longer range and still only have one lens then i suggest you buy it and sell your older lens. if you dont mind carrying 2 lenses i suggest that you just add the 70-300 to your kit and keep the 18-135.

  12. i used to have the same kit you do
    D80 with 18-135mm lens
    does it worth to sell the 18-135 lens and buy the 18-200 ??
    not for the zoom only , but i heard that the 18-200 is sharpper than the 18-135
    and that the 18-55 is sharpper than the 18-200 ??
    should i buy the 18-200
    or 18-55 and 70-300 ?

  14. The new VR II only benefits from slightly better VR and a lock to prevent creep. I just bought the original VR version 1 week ago, I couldn’t justify the price difference between the deal I got and the VR II brand new.

  20. the older version of the 18-200mm had a lens creep, and the newer version has zoom/lens lock to prevent it.

  22. i never really felt the need for vr with the 18-135. Maybe its because I hold as still as possible when taking shots. I felt like the results with the 18-135 were much sharper and the long end of the 18-200 to be disapointing. We all have our opinions.

    Enjoy your 18-200! its not a perfect lens but i love it!

  23. i  have an 18/ 135 , just purchased an 18/200 today, i was dissappointed at high end of 135. no vr. how can the 135 be better ? i might sell it once i get my 18/200….

  24. i bought it from my local camera store. I’m now actually starting to have some creep, but not to much. doesn’t really bother me.
